Book Given to Lehi is a book that the first of those who came down and went forth upon the earth gave to Lehi and commanded him to read. As Lehi read, he was “filled with the Spirit of the Lord” (1 Nephi 1:11).
Lehi read, “Wo, wo, unto Jerusalem, for I have seen thine abominations!” He also read concerning Jerusalem’s destruction, that many inhabitants would perish by the sword and many would be carried captive into Babylon (1 Nephi 1:12-13).
