Lamanite Prison of Nephi

Lamanite Prison of Nephi is the prison in which a Lamanite army cast Nephi and Lehi, “even in that same prison in which Ammon and his brethren were cast by the servants of Limhi” (Helaman 5:21). After Nephi and Lehi had been there “many days without food,” men entered the prison intending “to take them that they might slay them” (Helaman 5:22).

The prison held “Lamanites and Nephites who were dissenters” when “the earth shook exceedingly” and its walls shook as if about to fall, but “they did not fall” (Helaman 5:27). Nephi and Lehi stood among those within, “as if in the midst of a flaming fire,” which did not harm them or take hold upon the prison walls (Helaman 5:44).
