Lehi’s Record is Lehi’s writings of visions, dreams, prophecies, and words to his children. Nephi says Lehi “hath written many things which he saw in visions and in dreams” and “many things which he prophesied and spake unto his children” (1 Nephi 1:16-17).
Nephi abridged his father’s writings upon plates he made with his own hands before writing of his own life (1 Nephi 1:17). Nephi says the genealogy of his fathers “is given in the record which has been kept by my father” (1 Nephi 6:1).
