Stone Sling is a sling carried with stones for hunting and warfare. “We did travel for the space of many days, slaying food by the way,” with bows, arrows, stones, and slings (1 Nephi 16:15). Nephi said, “I did arm myself with a bow and an arrow, with a sling and with stones” as he asked where he should obtain food (1 Nephi 16:23).
The Nephites armed themselves with “stones, and with slings, and with all manner of weapons of war” to meet the Amlicites (Alma 2:12). Zerahemnah’s army had swords, cimeters, bows, arrows, “their stones and their slings” (Alma 43:20). Ammon “began to cast stones at them with his sling” and slew a certain number of them (Alma 17:36).
